Our Faith Page  |  Core Beliefs

Romans 10:8-9 Confess & believe that Jesus is Lord & be saved.

Thanks for visiting the most important page of our website.  We believe that the Holy Bible is the true Word of God.  We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God through whom salvation has been offered to the world.  We believe that after placing our faith in God via Jesus Christ, we should then WORK daily to fulfill God's purpose for our lives.

Why Does Our Group Do What We Do?

The Bible gives every indication that our (Christians) good actions on earth will have eternal effects.  In others words, what you do today effects more than just today, so choose your actions wisely.  This is never more true than in the area of helping people that are in need, whether it's someone that you think deserves it, or not.  Jesus made comments about how assisting people on earth is just like assisting Him also.  He also says that when we miss opportunities to do things for people on earth it's the same as a missed opportunity to do something for Him.  This is why we should develop a lifestyle of service to those in need.  When we do this, we are representing Christ as He intended for us to do.  Remember that He loved us unconditionally and WITHOUT pre-requisites and so we must do that for others.

Holy God vs Unholy Man

God is Holy as part of His eternal character.  People are unholy as part of their daily choices.  God's holiness can not mix with our unholiness neither on earth, nor in heaven.  That means that unless God provides a way for our unholy thoughts, actions and ways to be separated from us, then we will remain separated from God.

Justification / Salvation

God says that sin is so serious, that it'll lead to the spiritual and physical death of the offender.  But God has also provided us with a couple of different ways to have our sins removed from us.  Because sin literally produced death, God required another death to take place to address it.  Originally, this was done by our ancestors through animal sacrifice one time each year.   That means instead of the offender paying for his or her own sins with their own life, God accepted an animal to die in their place.  The Bible called this the Day of Atonement.

Today, God has cancelled annual animal sacrifices because they were temporary and imperfect sacrifices that only took care of people's sin for one year at a time.  God has now approved a plan to have one FINAL sacrifice to die for us that is perfect, unlike the animals, and that will address ALL of ours sins, instead of just some.  That final sacrifice and final death is His own Son, Jesus Christ / Yahweh.  The requirement is that you believe that God's Son (Jesus) has died and rose for your sins to be forgiven via faith in Him.  This is what the Bible calls being Justified, or accepting Salvation.

Faith Alone

Salvation is so powerful and accomplishes so much that many people think that you have to work to get it, and work even more to keep it.  They constantly keep a list of rules in their heads detailing how they should live, and they keep score on what they do right during the day vs what they do wrong.  If they have enough right thoughts and actions then they believe that they are in good standing with God from a standpoint of Salvation.  If they have a bad day (so to speak) and have bad thoughts and actions then they believe that they are not in good standing with God.  But the Bible is clear when it says that we are Saved by Faith alone (Eph 2:8) and that Salvation does not end after you receive it.  It's eternal.  You can never "live good enough" to earn OR keep God's Salvation.  You must have true faith.

#YouToo

Of course people often say, "But I'm a good person.  I don't need forgiveness or salvation."  Well, being seen as a good person depends on what standard of "good" that you're using.  There are some people that you probably look really good compared to.  But when you compare yourself to a standard of perfection, you would look really bad.  A relationship with God both now, and for eternity, requires that you meet a standard of perfection which is a status that God gives you through your faith in Jesus.  You will never measure up by your own efforts because you (we) are very flawed.  That's evident by the fact that we as people have told a lie, stolen something, cheated, killed, etc which are all sins that you can not carry with you into God's presence unless they have been taken care of.

You too need God's forgiveness, love and salvation.  God wants to accomplish this through an eternal  relationship, not a temporary religion.  Please refer to the below scriptures.  Got questions?  Let us know at Thomas501c3@gmail.com.

Salvation Verses Explained

# Justification & Sanctification

Romans 10:9

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  That means you must be sincere in your belief that what the Bible says about Jesus (his death & resurrection for our sins) is 100% truth.  Your outward confession is based on your inward belief.

Ephesians 2:8-9

It is by Grace that you have been saved, through Faith, and this is not from yourselves.  It is a gift of God not by your works, so that you can not boast.  That means your salvation is not based on your own effort, but rather on God's act of love in sending His Son to die for us.  That's why no one can boast or brag about receiving salvation.  It is an "unworked for" gift for those who accept it by faith.

John 3:16

God loved the world (you & me) so much that He sent His only Son to die for it, so that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) will not perish, but have everlasting life.  That means LOVE is not just what you say, it's what you do.  Love is expressed in acts, not just words.  God commands us to love everyone so let's live a life that shows how we care for people as God showed how much He cares for us.

A Prayer For Salvation

# Sincerely Believe

Pray and Believe

God, I know that I have done some wrong things in my life and I know that the Bible calls those wrong things "sins."  I know that because you're Holy & perfect, my sins create separation between me & you.  So God please forgive me for the sins I have committed.  I thank you that I am forgiven because of the sacrifice of Jesus that erased all of my sins.  I confess and believe that Jesus died and rose for me and I accept him as my personal savior.  Amen.

Note:  Now that you've accepted salvation through Jesus, make sure that you are a part of a good, bible-based church and please send us an email today to Thomas501c3@gmail.com if you have just made the decision to accept Christ.

Our Daily Motivation

# Living To Serve

Matthew 25:31-46 (paraphrased)

When Jesus returns to judge all of the nations, He will separate us into 2 groups: Sheep & Goats.  He will first tell the sheep that they fed Him when He was hungry, welcomed Him in when He was a stranger, gave Him clothes and medical care, and even visited Him in prison.

He will then tell the goats that they did none of the things for Him that the sheep did.  By the end of verse 46 the sheep depart with Jesus for eternity and the goats are separated from Jesus for eternity.

We treat Christ, like we treat others.

Who are the others?  They are the strangers, immigrants, poor & sick people, prisoners, etc that we encounter everyday and have multiple opportunities to help.  Think of all the illegitimate reasons that we, as Christians, do not help those in need; especially foreigners that the world sees as "less than."

A Message About Faith From Our TFLF Founder

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.  That's my encouragement and prayer for you today.  This is not a life that you have to go through alone.  There are many ways that God can help you during the tough times in your life but the key is that you must have faith.  My own personal faith in God has allowed me to experience His love for me on many levels and has allowed me to share that love with others.  NEVER let your faith in God be shaken and know that ultimately, He is all you need.

The One True God

God vs god(s):  We live in a world where people make a lot of different things their "god."  It may be their jobs, their money, their status, their families or even themselves.

Nothing should take the place of our creator.  He is the only one qualified to be in the position of "God" so make sure that you relate to Him in that capacity.
